Murder Mystery Hunt!

You've waited long enough for our next hunt!  This one is a hunt based on the popular board game Clue/Cluedo.  Hunters play the role of Detective in this grid-wide hunt, visiting each murder scene (shop) to gather clues in a short scenario provided by shop owners about the murdered "intruder/victim" (hunt object), following the clues given in the story and receive the murder weapon (hunt gift).

Basic idea of the Hunt:

--The detective--
The hunter will be the detective. He/she will find the murdered 'intruder' (hunt object), following the clues given in the story and receive the murder weapon (hunt gift)

--Location of the murder--
Location of the murders will be in the shops of the participating vendors.

--The murderer--
The shop owner will be the murderer. He/she used the hunt gift as a murder weapon.

--The clues--
The shop owner will have to make up a story (hint) around how and where in your shop you murdered the intruder (hunt object). An example can be it was shoplifting in your shop and you tried to stop it, but ended up killing it.  Or it broke into your shop and you caught it, struggled with it and you killed it, ect...

The hint wont be the whole story. It will be a short interview with the detective. But do not tell to much about the location, because the detective needs to find it still.

Example:  "I was sleeping, and i suddenly heard a sound." -shivers thinking about it again and takes a deep breath- "I went to look.. and there was a thief putting jeans in a bag. I didn't know what to do!" -nervously pulls on her clothes- "I did it, i don't know why but i just did it..."

The jeans is a hint to where the gift is hidden, such as in/near your clothing area of your shop. This doesn't mean the intruder got murdered with jeans, only that you caught the intruder in that area and killed it with something from your shop (the hunt gift).

--The murder weapon--

******* No actual weapons such as guns, knives, crossbows, etc will be allowed. *******

The murder weapon will be the gift for the hunters/detectives. The gift is something you make for your shop, something you normally sell.  If you make only shoes then the murder weapon will be a shoe. You can use one shoe in your story but of course the gift has a pair of shoes. This goes for larger items too, you can take one item from the larger set of items.

Be creative with the items you make. It doesn't have to be realistic. You can kill it with a gummy bear, just make a "believable" story around it.

--The Story--
Please include a longer version of your story with your gift. We all are curious about what really happened between you and the thief. Like in all good crime series the whole truth is told at the end.

Example:
Nari looks around nervously as she speaks to the Detective  "I was upstairs in my shop, putting out new items when I heard glass break downstairs. I ran to the top of the stairs but couldn't see much of anything... so i grabbed the closest thing to me. It was only a marshmallow on a stick... " Nari realizes she was still holding the stick and drops it on the floor as if it had burned her hand, a look of fear, disgust and confusion washing across her face. Tears form in her eyes as she continues talking "I didn't expect to find an intruder trying to steal all my cushions.  I was so scared, but I snuck up and started hitting it with the stick"  Her tears fall as she looks at the Detective "I couldn't stop hitting it, my heart was racing and before I knew it, the intruder was dead..."

Rules of the Hunt:

Absolutely NO business in a box (BIAB) items, resellers or copybotters!  We will visit your store to make sure you are an actual avatar with actual stuff, created by you.  The prize MUST be something you created yourself and your prize should reflect the quality of the items you normally create.  Your prize does NOT need to be a brand new item, but if it is a current item please be sure to at least change the color(s).

1.  Hunt Signs should be placed as soon as they are received.

2.  If your store moves, please notify us immediately and provide the new LM so it can be posted to the group/blog for the hunters.

3. You may have between 5 and 10 VISIBLE decoys at any time. No more than 10 total decoys.  Remember, not everyone likes decoys and the more you have out, the more frustrated the hunters become. They can be great entertainment if done correctly, but they can backfire, so think carefully before using them.

4.  Hunt item cannot be completely hidden inside something.  Hiding it behind an invisiprim is extremely frustrating to beginning hunters.

5.  Box your hunt prize(s).  If you wish to include a landmark to your store, put your landmark inside that box.

6.  Please provide a hint.  If you don't have a hint, be sure to rez a copy of the hunt object on the sign so hunters know what to look for.
